The Canadian War Museum

opened on the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. With the construction of the new museum and the inspiration of new surroundings come new ideas and programs. The mandate of the museum is to 'Remember, Preserve, Educate' and central to all exhibitions and museum materials is a focus on lived individual experiences of conflict.

The criteria were to reflect the contemporary feel of the Museum, the unusual, environmentally responsive architecture, and its positioning as a world-class forward-thinking institution, and a must-see destination for visitors to the National Capital region.
