We consider ourselves lucky to have chosen inconcepts to design our history, “In the Company of Friends – 50 Years of Volunteering at the National Gallery of Canada”. inconcepts simultaneously designed the book’s French-language sister publication, “Des amis et des arts”, repeating a bravura performance. Their work was done on time, without any hassle, and to everyone’s satisfaction. They created the look we were aiming for – friendly and, at the same time, elegant. The text gains in importance by the way it is presented and the manner in which the photographs are used provides some charming interludes.
As volunteers at the National Gallery, we are very conscious of the need to conform to the high standard expected of a leading national institution. inconcepts has helped us to produce a book of which all our volunteers can be proud.

I have spent the past two years researching and writing the history of fifty years of volunteering in the National Gallery of Canada. The title of the book is “In the Company of Friends”, and its purpose is to create a memoir/scrapbook of history and personal anecdotes to tell the story.
From the beautiful cover – which shows the “friends” at a convivial garden party – to the last page, inconcepts has given us a book which captures that spirit in a professional, colourful manner.
I am delighted with the visual presentation and am proud that it is going to represent such an important part of our National Gallery.
